Dear Students,
the working group "Mechanics of Functional Materials" offers exciting topics concerning the surface investigation with the scanning force microscope (AFM) for project modules, Bachelor's and Master's theses:
- elastic and plastic characterization of individual pharmaceutical powder granules,
- modeling and controlling of AFM lithography on polymers,
- friction on the atomic scale: extensions of the Prandtl-Tomlinson model,
- effects on the AFM nanomanipulation of gold islands,
- AFM investigations on metal adsorption on mineral surfaces,
- folding effects in nanotribological characterizations with colloidal probes.
